I wanted to give the story I wrote a special element in the interior design, so at the beginning of each chapter I inked a scene that would foreshadow something in the story or that was important in the chapter. There is even a chapter that lets you see what a language looks like with a decoder to try and decipher it yourself.
I collaborated with a friend who made the maps for me. I knew the maps would add that degree of uniqueness that would let the reader know where they are and a couple of the maps even give you a glimpse into what the environment looks like.
